Attempted robbery at Coimbatore Karamadai SBI Bank ATM - Unidentified men escapes after alarm sound

Coimbatore: State Bank of India is operating in Maruthur area near Karamadai in Coimbatore district. The bank's ATM center and Indian Overseas Bank's ATM center are located on the same premises. In this area, which is always bustling during the day, there is very little traffic at night.

Two unidentified men who came there at midnight yesterday, wearing face masks, approached the SBI Bank ATM. They entered the premises at around 1.30 am and tried to rob it.

Of the two, one was waiting to monitor from the outside and the other was trying to disconnect the alarm wire before entering the ATM machine. Later, he tried to break into the ATM machine. At that moment, the alarm went off and the two panicked and got into their vehicle and fled the scene.

Karamadai police, on learning of the incident, rushed to the spot and conducted a investigation. Also, they have cast a net for these unidentified individuals who tried to break into the ATM machine with CCTV footage related to the robbery attempt.
